Rubber granules made of recycled EPDM with polystyrene fibers
Acoustic insulation mat supplied in rolls and manufactured with fibers and granules of recycled EPDM rubber bonded with latex adhesive in a hot process. The insulation is finished on one side with a gray textile fleece that protects the rubber layer and prevents dirt from penetrating between the rubber granules.
The Grei 8 with its distinctive gray textile backing is produced with EPDM granules derived from recycled sealing rubbers (washing machines, freezers, fridges,…). Introduced to the market in 2005, the patented GREI 8 is the result of 20 years of technical know-how and the application of state-of-the-art production techniques. The Grei 8 owes its low dynamic stiffness (17 MN/m³) to the EPDM rubber, which is more elastic than the SBR rubber of the Roll Line. The high load capacity (permanent load: 3,000 kg/m² – peak load: 10,000 kg/m²) and low dynamic stiffness makes Grei 8 extremely suitable as a vibration isolator in a floating floor system. When damping disturbing vibrations that arise in technical or production areas and can propagate through the building structure, a low natural frequency of the floating floor system is important to avoid resonance. The eigenfrequency of a vibration-damping floating floor system with Grei 8 at a limited load of 0.005 MPa is 38 Hz for a single layer and 18 Hz for a quadruple layer. The low eigenfrequency of the floor system provides good isolation from low-frequency vibrations.
